About Us
SageStone started with a pretty simple idea: make things by hand, from stuff the earth already made, and let people find the one that feels right for them.
We work with natural materials — stones, woods, shells, seeds — picking each one for what makes it different. Every bracelet is handmade. Not batched, not automated, just hands and materials and a little bit of patience.
Most things you buy are identical to a million others. We liked the idea of making something where that's not true. Pick a stone because of how it looks in sunlight. Choose a bead because it reminds you of a place. Wear it because you want to, not because someone told you to.
We work with suppliers who treat their materials and their workers well. Traditional techniques, no shortcuts on durability. And we keep the packaging simple — recycled paper, no plastic — because it felt wrong to wrap something natural in something that isn't.
Our crystal and gemstone guides are written by people who actually collect, work with, and study these materials. We cite mineralogical references, note when a claim is traditional versus scientifically supported, and update articles when new information comes to light. If we haven't tested something ourselves, we say so.
The SageStone editorial team includes mineralogy enthusiasts, jewelry makers, and crystal collectors with hands-on experience spanning over a decade. Our content draws from field collecting trips, lapidary workshops, gem shows (including the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show), and ongoing conversations with geologists and gemologists.
We can be reached through our contact page for corrections, questions, or collaboration inquiries.
We post what we're working on, things we find interesting, and occasionally what goes wrong (it happens). Find us on social media — we'd love to hear what you think.
